![]() ![]() Not planning on upgrading until it breaks. I race with a TS-PC wheelbase, which is quite strong but not like DD of course. If you want I can add more detailed pics later the day. Im really tempted to go with a simlabs rig but I have not quite justified spending the money when I could just build a wooden frame myself and paint it black. With the seat all the way back and the driving pedals at the front, I have enough space to place the flight pedals infront of the driving pedals. I also want to add some hinges to the left HOTAS base, so I can open it like a car door to have more space for sitting down and standing up. I haven't a simple solution for the Keyboard so far, I just lay it on my lap. I moved the pedals and wheel to the front, HOTAS/HOSAS back, when I'm driving I move my seat forward, for flying I move the seat completely back and have enough space for HOSAS and a mouse on the free plate behind the right stick. I use Sim Commander 4, and dont run any effects on higher. Running these big transducers at max strength will shake your teeth out. So far I have settled on two options and didnt order. I also added the rail system for car seats, for moving my seat back and forth (not in this pic). All will be implemented on 8020 rig, with T300 GT and its pedals (if it matters). This way I can loosen the screws and just move the sticks where I need them. Used 40x120 I-type fit base and wheel, also bought the parts at motedis.Įdit: I took 40x120 because as you can see I mounted the HOTAS bases on the sides of the rig's base. 140cm length, 48cm width (without HOTAS) ~70cm with HOTAS, 75cm hight. Made of waterjet cut aluminium brackets combined with standard aluminium profiles, this rig kit allows you to build a lean and compact GT-style simulator suitable for both professional and home use. Building an Aluminium Profile Sim Racing Cockpit (or 8020 Rig as its sometimes incorrectly called) can seem a little overwhelming. Seeing your rig reminded me to get a cupholder asap :-) The Heusinkveld Sim Rig is a sturdy mounting platform for your high-end simulator peripherals, including an integrated triple monitor mount. so if i feel like some time down the road that i want to invert my pedals, i will just get longer support on the sides of my pedals and invert them. the beauty of aluprofile rigs is that we are never really locked down in our design, we can just ad and adjust stuff whenever we want to. i fear it will just add flex to my construction and in general i dont see the need for overcomplicating things, want to keep it clean and simple for now. I also thought about inverting the pedals, but they feel really nice the way they are now. its just more convinient to get in and out when i slide it completely back. my normal driving position is more at the front and the seat not hanging that far over. the original motedis designs always looked so big to me, thats the main reason why i never got one of those.Īlso keep in mind that my seat is on a seat slider like in a real car. Yeah you could indeed loose a few cm on the front and back. mine looks cleaner but its not a fair comparison because i have not even done the cabling and stuff, so mine will also get a bit messier once everything is installed properly (still hope to keep a relatively clean look though) ![]()
